Richmond, Va. - The Boston College women's golf team placed fourth at the two-round Spider Fall Invitational in Richmonda, Va. The Eagles finished with a score of 661 points, only 38 points shy of Campbell University, which took first with 623 points. Virginia B (629 points) and Bucknell (657 points) finished second and third, while Richmond (664 points) rounded out the top five. There were 12 competing schools in the tournament held over two days hosted by the University of Richmond.
The Eagles were led by junior Katie Napleton, who placed eighth overall and had a team-best round of 78. Napleton finished with a score of 160. Freshman Meghan Martinek was 12th, shooting a 162, while classmate Sara Gogolak was tied for 26th with a score of 170. Junior Lara Smilnak rounded out the Eagles scoring 174 and finishing 41st overall.
Boston College will finish out its fall schedule at the Sacred Heart Invitational in Fairfield, Conn. on October 29 and 30.
