BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) -- Megan Finnerty and Kirby Copeland combined for 26 points to lead No. 25 Virginia Tech to a 67-62 win over No. 19 Boston College.
They each scored 13 points for the Hokies (14-1, 1-1 Atlantic Coast Conference), who trailed the Eagles (12-4, 0-2) 36-30 at halftime. Brooke Queenan and Kindyll Dorsey each scored 13 for Boston College.
Nare Diawara tied the game at 40 on two free throws for Virginia Tech at 15:46. A 10-2 run gave the Hokies their largest lead, putting them up 58-50 with 7:19 left.
The Eagles took a 60-58 lead with 2:35 to go on a layup by Queenan. Two free throws by Kerri Gardin put the Hokies up 61-60 with 2:01 remaining.
A basket by Kathrin Ress had BC trailing 63-62 with 46 seconds left. A jumper by Dawn Chriss put the Hokies up for good at 65-62.
Carrie Mason made two free throws for Virginia Tech with 12 seconds left. Brittanny Johnson missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer for BC.
Johnson had 11 point for Boston College, and Ress added 10 points and nine rebounds.
Gardin added 10 points for Virginia Tech.
