WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY PLACE NINTH AT ROY GRIAK INVITATIONAL

FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. - The women's cross country team competed in the annual Roy Griak Invitational, hosted by the University of Minnesota. The Eagles competed on Saturday, September 24. Senior co-captain Laurel Burdick was the Eagles top finisher, placing seventh overall in a field of 287 runners. As a team, BC finished ninth out of 31 squads.
Laurel Burdick ran the course in 21 minutes, nine seconds to put her in the seventh slot. Three-time All-American Maria Cicero was the next Eagle to cross the finish line in 21:43, for 20th overall.
Junior Kathleen Smyth completed the course in 22:33 for 65th overall, while classmate Jessica Flinn placed 71st overall.
Senior Anne Hessberg came in right behind Flinn, in 72nd, to round out the top five for the Eagles.
Next up for the Eagles is the Murray Keating Invitational in Orono, Maine on Oct. 1.
