Women's Golf places seventh at Dartmouth Invitational

Hanover, N.H. - The women's golf team came in seventh out 17 teams at the Dartmouth Invitational. The tournament was played on Saturday, Sept. 17 and Sunday, Sept. 18. The two-round event was played on a par-72 course and covered 5,803 yards. The Eagles had two top 20 finishers with Emily Cannon tying for 10th and sophomore Courtney Tincher tying for 17th.
Cannon was tied with St. John University's Brittany Lambertson for 10th overall. The freshman shot round a 79 on the first day then improved to 77 during the second round for a total of 156.
Tincher, who competed in the Invitational as an individual, completed the course with rounds of 76 and 82.
Freshman Kathryn Mohr finished tied for 21st overall with a first round total of 82. Mohr improved by five strokes in the second round notching and a 77. Sophomore Lara Smilnak was tied for 32nd after the two rounds and shot a 77 and 85.
Senior Elizabeth Friel and sophomore Katie Napleton tied each other for 43rd. Friel shot rounds of 87 and 80, while Napleton recorded an 84 and 83.
The Eagles competed in a 17-team tournament and 90 players were fielded.
Next on the schedule is Tribe Invitational in Williamsburg, Va. on Saturday, Oct. 8 and Sunday, Oct. 9. The College of William and Mary will be hosting the two-day event.
