Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Boston College forward Charlie Davies will miss 8-12 weeks after having surgery last week to repair a torn meniscus on his right knee.
Last year's Big East Rookie of the year traveled to Northern Ireland this summer with the United States Under-18 team, scoring a hat trick in the finals of the prestigious Milk Cup. The sophomore was also a 2005 preseason All-American.
Davies was injured on a tackle in the first game of the season against #12 Fairleigh Dickinson. He had assisted on the Eagles' only goal of game prior to the injury.
The Eagles have stepped up in the absence of Davies by winning three consecutive games and have their first-ever ACC game Friday at Virginia Tech.
