Volleyball Beats Holy Cross

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Eagles dropped a tough match to a strong University of Rhode Island team 3-0 early on Saturday but rebounded against Holy Cross 3-0. BC finished with a final record of 2-1 in the New England Challenge and placed third.
Junior Alison Shepp led the attack with eight kills against University of Rhode Island. Dorota Niemczewska and Kelsey Johnson also contributed offensively with seven kills a piece. Niemczewska also had another strong match defensively with 11 digs against the Rams.
In the final game in the New England Challenge the Eagles beat Holy Cross 3-0. BC overpowered Holy Cross in three games (30-18, 30-16, 30-26). Co-captain Verena Rost had 22 assists on the night. Kelsey Johnson led the attack with 14 attacks. Freshman Brittany Pierpont also contributed 14 assists, three aces and three kills.
Niemczewksa made the All-Tournament team with a solid all around weekend. The Eagles (3-3) look to continue their road trip against the University of New Hampshire at the Ocean National Bank Invitational next weekend and will take on New Hampshire, Siena, and Florida Atlantic.
