Men's Soccer Voted Sixth in Preseason ACC Poll

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College Men's Soccer team begins its first season in the ACC as sixth pick in the preseason coaches poll, according to an announcement made by the league office.
The Eagles return seven starters, including 2004 Big East Rookie of the Year Charlie Davies who led the team in scoring (22 pts.). All-Big East performer Sam Brill also returns to lead an experienced group of defenders who helped guide the Eagles to the second-best goals against average (0.49) in the nation.
Recently tabbed #21 in the College Soccer News preseason national rankings, Boston College finished the 2004 season with a record of 13-5-2 and advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament for the second time in the last three years under head coach Ed Kelly.
The Eagles open the season at Farleigh Dickinson on Thursday, Sept. 1. The first home game of the season is Wednesday, Sept. 7 against Quinnipiac. The ACC slate begins Friday, Sept. 16 at Virginia Tech.
