Boston College senior forward Craig Smith has been selected to the USA squad that will compete in the World University Games in Izmir, Turkey from August 12-22, 2005.
The 12-member team was chosen after competition at USA Basketball's men's trials and training camp in Colorado Springs, Colo., from July 28-August 2, 2005.
Smith is one of two ACC players on the team. He is joined by Duke forward Shelden Williams.
Villanova head coach Jay Wright will serve as the USA team's head coach. Virginia Commonwealth head coach Jeff Capel and Manhattan head coach Bobby Gonzalez will serve as assistant coaches.
With 32 nations expected to field a team at the 2005 World University Games, the competition has been divided into eight preliminary groups consisting of four teams in each group.
