Boston College All-American Patrick Eaves has signed a three-year contract with the NHL's Ottawa Senators, the Senators announced on Monday. Eaves, who played three seasons at BC, was Ottawa's first-round pick - 29th overall - in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
"Patrick [Eaves] had a very productive career here at BC and we wish him all the best as he begins his professional career," head coach Jerry York said. "Additionally, Patrick has assured me that he will finish his degree at BC in the near future which is very important to us."
Eaves served as assistant captain as a junior last season and led the Eagles in scoring with 19 goals and 29 assists for 48 points in 36 games. He was named Hockey East Player of the Year, was a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award and shared the team's Most Valuable Player honors.
In his three seasons at The Heights, Eaves registered 47 goals and 60 assists for 107 career points in 84 games.
