Volleyball's Brittany Pierpont Selected for Tour of Argentina

Setter Brittany Pierpont (Tampa, Fla.) has been selected to travel to Argentina and compete against the nation's Junior National Team, according to an announcement made by the tour's coordinator.
Pierpont, who will begin her freshman year at the Heights this fall, is among 18 U.S. collegiate players that comprise the USA Select Team. Led by Colorado State head coach Tom Hilbert, the team will travel with and play against the Argentine Junior National Team. The team will also play some matches against Argentina's Youth National Team, Senior "B" Team and possibly some Under-22 club programs.
Pierpont will leave for Argentina on June 7 and return on June 19 and play six matches on the trip. Other players on the tour include BYU's Rachel Dyer, Purdue's Renata Dargan, Baylor's Emily Houston, LSU's Regan Hood, Pacific's Sydney Bennett and Alabama's Brigitte Slack. Several other student-athletes from the Missouri Valley, Big Ten and Big XII will be on the trip.
Pierpont played four years of varsity volleyball at the Tampa Preparatory School. She earned All-America honors from prepvolleyball.com as a senior. Pierpont also captured All-State, All-County and All-Conference first-team accolades in 2004.
The trip is coordinated by Bring It Promotions, which is based in Santa Barbara, Calif.
