Men's Tennis Finishes Season With Loss

The men's tennis team lost its consolation match in the Big East Tournament on Saturday morning, falling to St. John's, 4-3, in Tampa, Fla. It is the second time this season the Eagles have lost by that score to the Red Storm.
The teams split the six singles matches, with Boston College seniors Chris McCoy and Derrick Chou leading the way with straight-set victories at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively. Freshman Geoff Mueller also won in straight sets at No. 6 singles, defeating Todd Goldberg, 7-6, 6-1.
Freshman Jason Sechrist dropped a three-set match at No. 4 singles, falling 4-6, 7-5, 6-1 to Claudio Halim.
St. John's won the first point of the day by claiming two doubles matches.
The Eagles finish fourth in the Big East Tournament, one spot higher than last season. BC ends the season with an 11-13 record.
