Two Basketball Players Opt To Transfer

Two Boston College scholarship basketball players - sophomore Steve Hailey and freshman Gordon Watt - have decided to transfer and pursue opportunities for additional playing time at other schools, according to BC head basketball coach Al Skinner.
Hailey, a 6-foot guard from Boston, Mass., averaged 3.4 points, 2.7 assists and 1.9 rebounds per game in 23 games for the Eagles this past season. In two seasons, Hailey averaged 4.1 points, 2.7 assists and 1.6 rebounds in 57 games. He made six career starts.
Watt, a 6-foot-6-inch forward from Evanston, Ill., played in six games in 2004-05. He averaged 1.3 points and 0.8 rebounds per game.
Boston College finished the 2004-05 season with a 25-5 mark, including a 13-3 record in the Big East Conference. BC, which tied for the league's regular-season title, earned its fourth NCAA Tournament bid in the last five years.
The 2005-06 Eagles will feature six returning lettermen, including four starters.
