Volleyball Wins Spring Tournament

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College volleyball team won its Spring Tournament on Saturday at Power Gym. The Eagles played seven teams and finished the day with a record of 6-1.
BC topped Connecticut, Rhode Island, Harvard, Army, Wellesley College and Maine during the tournament. The Eagles only loss came to the University of New Hampshire, 30-28. Freshmen Abigail Hasebroock and Kelsey Johnson turned in standout performances for the Eagles. Sophomores Dorota Niemczewska and Alison Shepp also had impressive matches.
Following the tournament the Eagles held its first banquet in the Boston Room of the Lower Campus Dining Hall to honor the team's most successful season in program history and graduating seniors, Katie Andersen and Liz Aron.
The team awarded Allison Anderson Most Valuable Player honors, while Katie Andersen received the Coach's Award for her commitment and love for the game.
Verena Rost and Allison Anderson will serve as captains for the second straight season in 2005.
