
Men's Golf Takes Fourth At Navy Spring Invitational

Freshman Alex Snickenberger and junior Jim Roney each shot +9 on the weekend and led the Eagles to a fourth-place finish in the Navy Spring Invitational. The tournament, played at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Course in Annapolis, Md., was a two-day event finishing last Sunday.
BC, coming off the win at the Yale Spring Invitational, combined for a 606 stroke total which landed the squad at +38 for the weekend.
Snickenberger, coming in first for the Eagles for the third time this spring, and Roney both shots rounds of 73 and 78. Snickenberger opened with a 78, then shot a 73 for a total of 151 strokes in the two-round event. Roney posted a 73 in the first round and finished with a 78 to tie Snickenberger.
Freshman Jim Granello, who is having a banner spring along with Snickenberger, came in 23rd overall. His rounds of 74 and 78 landed him one stroke behind the BC leaders.
Freshman Bob Reed shot a +13 to land 40th overall and Kyle Kelly's +15 rounded out the BC leaderboard.
For the second straight tournament, no Eagle shot over +15.
Next weekend, both teams will be in Notre Dame, Ind. for the Big East Championships. The women play Friday through Sunday and the men will play from Saturday to Sunday to conclude both teams' seasons.
