Eagles win six events at UNH Invitational

The women's track team had winners in six individual events and the top three finishers in the 1,500-meter run at the UNH Invitational in Durham, N.H. on Saturday.
Junior Laurel Burdick won the 1,500 in 4 minutes, 34.55 seconds. Junior Kristen Coon and senior Melissa Sherman finished second and third, respectively, in the event.
Freshman Mary Heitkamp won the 800-meter run in 2:16.54. Junior Alexis Lake won the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a mark of 11:20.79. Classmate Anne Hessberg was second in the event.
The Eagles also had a successful day in the field events. Senior Saki Sugano set a new school record in the pole vault with a mark of 12 feet, 5.5 inches. Sugano and classmate Megan Mara finished first and second, respectively, in the event.
Sophomore Julie Regan won the high jump with a mark of 1.64 meters. Classmate Brighid Marquess won the javelin throw for BC.
