Smith, Dudley, Williams Earn All-Big East Honors

Boston College junior Craig Smith and sophomore Jared Dudley earned All-Big East first-team honors and freshman Sean Williams captured Big East All-Rookie Team honors, according to an announcement made by the league office.
Smith and Dudley were joined on the first team by Pittsburgh's Chevon Troutman, Providence's Ryan Gomes, and Syracuse's Hakim Warrick and Gerry McNamara. Smith, Gomes and Warrick also earned first-team honors last year.
Smith averaged 16.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game in 16 conference contests this season. The Los Angeles, Calif., resident ranked among league leaders in four categories: rebounding (second), steals (seventh), scoring (eighth) and field-goal percentage (10th).
Dudley averaged 17.9 points and 8.0 rebounds per game in league action. He led the team in minutes played, averaging 37.1 minutes per league game. The San Diego, Calif., resident ranked among league leaders in seven categories: rebounding (third), scoring (fourth), steals (fifth), field-goal percentage (eighth), assist-turnover ratio (eighth), free-throw percentage (10th), and assists (tied-14th).
Dudley gained All-Rookie Team honors last winter.
Williams averaged 4.1 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.3 blocked shots per game in league action. The Houston, Texas, resident ranked third among league leaders in blocked shots.
Boston College returns to action on Thursday, March 10 against either Providence or West Virginia in the Big East Championship's quarterfinal round. Game time is noon in Madison Square Garden.
