Weekend Preview: Eagles Set To Face New Hampshire

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College women's ice hockey team will play a home-and-home series against eighth-ranked New Hampshire (19-7-6, 11-3-4) this weekend. The Eagles are in fourth place in the Hockey East standings with 15 points and look to capture their first conference playoff berth this weekend.
Last Time Out
BC (10-17-4, 6-9-3) is coming off a weekend sweep of the University of Maine. With the two wins the Eagles moved three points ahead of the Black Bears for the final playoff spot in the league.
On Saturday, the Eagles edged the Black Bears 2-1 at Northeastern's Matthews Arena. Deborah Spillane netted two goals, including a short-handed gamewinner, to lead BC to the victory. Goalie Alison Quandt stopped 32 of 33 shots she faced.
In Sunday's contest, BC topped Maine 5-2 and four BC players tallied multiple points in the victory. Jill McInnis, Michelle Lombardi, and Colleen Harris each notched two points, while Cristin Stuart assisted on three goals. Quandt made 33 stops to earn her eighth win of the season.
Against New Hampshire This Season
BC has faced New Hampshire twice this season. On October 24, the Eagles fell to the Wildcats 6-1 at Kelley Rink. Sarah Feldman scored the lone goal for BC. On January 8, New Hampshire tied BC, 2-2, at the Whittemore Center. Feldman and Spillane netted tallies for the Eagles. Quandt made 24 saves in the tie. The Eagles also held the Wildcats scoreless on their seven power-play opportunities in the game.
Notes
The Eagles are 4-1-1 in their last six Hockey East contests. BC leads the league and is ranked sixth in the country with a power-play percentage of .205. The Eagles have scored 36 goals with a man advantage this season.
Spillane was named Hockey East Rookie of the Month on Wednesday. In February, the freshman notched six goals and an assist for seven points. Spillane has tallied at least one point in five of the last six games.
Quandt earned conference Defensive Player of the Week honors on Monday for the fourth time this season. The junior made 65 saves in the two-game series against Maine.
Stuart has produced five points in the last four matchups, while McInnis and Harris have four points in the last four games.
This Weekend
The Eagles will play the first game of the home-and-home series on Saturday at the Whittemore Center in Durham, N.H. The puck drops at 2 p.m. and live stats will be available on New Hampshire's athletic Website. On Sunday, the Eagles will return home for their final home game of the season. BC will honor its five seniors before the 2 p.m. game.
