The women's tennis team continued its resurgence on Saturday, defeating future ACC rival Virginia Tech, 5-2, at the Flynn Tennis Complex in Chestnut Hill, Mass. The Eagles have won four consecutive matches.
BC (7-6) won the day's initial point by claiming two out of three doubles matches. The Eagles proceeded to dominate singles play, winning four of the day's six individual matches.
Junior Szilvia Szegedi and Virginia Tech's Anat Elazari split the first two sets at No. 1 singles, but Szegedi was dominant in the third, winning 4-6, 7-5, 6-0 to secure a big point for the Eagles.
Sophomore Lindsey Nash and freshmen Gia Nafarrete and Caitlin Arnould all won in straight sets for BC.
The Eagles resume Big East play on March 30, when they host Connecticut at 3 p.m.
