Boston College junior Szilvia Szegedi needed just 35 minutes to win her match at No. 1 singles on Wednesday afternoon, as the Eagles defeated Connecticut, 6-1, at the Flynn Recreation Complex.
The Eagles made their first outdoor home match a relaxing one, as they swept doubles play and won five of six singles matches.
Senior Amy Molden had a big day for the Eagles, winning handily at No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-3. Molden teamed with Szegedi at No.2 doubles to defeat UConn's Jen LoRusso and Liz Dibbs, 9-7.
Senior Morgan Landes and freshman Caitlin Arnould were the first doubles team done, winning 8-2 in the No. 3 slot.
Gia Nafarrete and Nida Waseem teamed to win their first doubles match of the season, 8-5.
