
Women's Tennis Finishes Florida Trip With A Win

The Boston College women's tennis team finished its Florida swing on Saturday with a 6-1 victory over Middle Tennessee State. BC went 2-1 in the Sunshine State.
The Eagles (5-6) won seven of nine matches on the day, including a hard-fought battle at No. 1 singles by junior Szilvia Szegedi. After dropping the first set to Jennifer Klaschka, Szegedi took over, winning the final two sets in convincing fashion. Szegedi won the match 2-6, 6-1, 6-2.
Senior Nida Waseem won in the No. 2 slot in straight sets, needing two tiebreakers to dispose of Claudia Szabo. Morgan Landes, Gia Nafarrete and Amy Molden all won their singles matches in straight sets for BC. Sophomore Lindsey Nash fell in the No. 4 slot.
The Eagles won two of the three doubles matches to pick up the first point of the day. Szegedi and Nash won in the No. 2 position while Landes and freshman Caitlin Arnould won at No. 3.
