Craig Smith Earns NABC All-America honors

Boston College junior Craig Smith has earned All-America third-team honors from the National Association of Basketball Coaches, according to an announcement made by the organization.
Smith is averaging 17.9 points and 8.4 rebounds per game, both team highs. He averaged 16.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game in 16 conference contests this season. The Los Angeles, Calif., resident ranked among league leaders in four categories: rebounding (second), steals (seventh), scoring (eighth) and field-goal percentage (10th).
Smith was joined on the third team by Oklahoma State's Joey Graham, Arizona's Salim Stoudamire, North Carolina's Rashad McCants and Washington's Nate Robinson.
The NABC's first team was Wake Forest's Chris Paul, Utah's Andrew Bogut, Kansas' Wayne Simien, Duke's J.J. Redick and Syracuse's Hakim Warrick. The second team was Louisville's Francisco Garcia, Arizona State's Ike Diogu, and Illinois' Deron Williams, Dee Brown and Luther Head.
Boston College, which has a 24-4 record and is currently ranked seventh in both major national polls, is currently awaiting the announcement of the 2005 NCAA Tournament field.
