Volleyball Falls to North Carolina

Chapel Hill, N.C. - The Boston College Eagles took one game from the North Carolina Tarheels but would eventually drop the match, 3-1. Sophomore Kelsey Johnson had a career-high match putting down 22 kills which was also a team-high for the afternoon.
Johnson led the team in kills while hitting .296. The sophomore outside hitter also tallied nine digs and five total blocks. Junior Morgan Woodcock was second in kills, totaling 12 on the match, hitting .333 while putting up three blocks and digging three balls. Junior Dorota Niemczewska had 10 kills while adding 10 digs and three blocks.
Senior co-captain Verena Rost had a team-high 53 assists along with 11 digs and one ace. Junior co-captain and libero Allison Anderson had a team-high 29 digs while serving up a match-high three aces.
After dropping the first game by a score 30-23, the Eagles battled back in the second game of the match. The Eagles went ahead at 4-3 and led for the rest of the game. The Eagles would go on to win the second game, 30-20. The next two games were close but the Tarheels were overpowering as they defeated the Eagles, 30-27 and 30-24 in game three and game four.
The Eagles will finish off their season tomorrow as they take on the North Carolina State Wolfpack in Raleigh, N.C. The game starts at 1 p.m.
