LAS VEGAS (AP) - Jared Dudley scored a game-high 23 points, including 11-of-12 from the free-throw line, to lead No. 10 Boston College past Drake 87-84 Friday night in the third round of the Las Vegas Holiday Invitational.
The Eagles, behind most of the game, rallied with a 10-0 run after trailing 72-68 with 3:51 left. Boston College (4-0) then held on down the stretch thanks in part to Dudley going 4-of-4 from the line in the final 19 seconds.
Tyrese Rice had 22 points, including 5-of-6 from the line, and Sean Marshall scored 18 for the Eagles. Craig Smith added 11 points and eight rebounds.
Boston College went 24-of-29 (82 percent) from the line, while Drake was 8-of-15 (53 percent).
The Eagles will play the winner TCU-Oklahoma State in the championship gane Saturday night.
Allou Bryant had 16 points on 8-for-10 shooting from the field, and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Bulldogs (2-1). Chris Bryant, who missed a potential tying 3-pointer in the final seconds, also scored 16 points. Ajay Calvin added 12, while Al Stewart and Chaun Brooks had 11 each.
Drake will face the TCU-Oklahoma State loser in the third-place game Saturday.
Former Eagles coach Tom Davis faced Boston College for the first time since he had 100 wins and led it to two NCAA tournament appearances from 1977-1982.
Boston College took its first lead at 66-65 on Dudley's putback with 5:46 remaining. But the Bulldogs answered with a 7-2 run and led 72-68 with 3:51 left.
The Eagles responded by scoring the next 10 points and never trailed again. During that span, they retook the lead, 73-72, on Dudley's offensive rebound and putback in a 3-point play with 2:25 left.
Drake eventually ended the 10-0 run on a Sean Cox basket with 44 seconds left.
Boston College shot 29-of-52 (56 percent) from the field, while Drake was 35-of-66 (53 percent).
Drake never trailed in the first half, and led 33-29 at halftime.
