Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Junior co-captain and libero Allison Anderson was four digs short of the NCAA record she set last year in a match with 53 digs in the BC's loss to Clemson on Saturday night. Despite dislocating her finger early in the match the junior tallied 20 digs in the fourth game of the match alone. Anderson's 53 digs is the second most digs in NCAA Division I women's volleyball this season. She still currently holds the NCAA record of 57 set last year.
As of last week, Anderson was ranked 20th in all of Division I for digs per game. Anderson has tallied 32 or more digs three times this season. She also sits a top of the ACC rankings for digs per game. The Eagles had 127 collective digs, which is a season-high for the team.
The Eagles played their last home matches of the year this weekend against Georgia Tech and Clemson. After topping the Yellow Jackets on Friday night, 3-1, the Eagles dropped a marathon five-game match to the Tigers on Saturday. BC will finish out the regular-season against North Carolina and North Carolina State on Nov. 25 and 26.
