
Swimming and Diving Earns Split Against Williams

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Tanya Suryoutomo won three events to help the women's swimming and diving team to a 168-138 victory over Williams College at the Flynn Complex Pool in Chestnut Hill. The men dropped their side of the match, 166-125.
Suryoutomo took the 100 and 200-yard backstroke events and also contributed the anchor leg of the winning 200-yard freestyle relay along with Elizabeth Byron, Caroline Byron, and Megan Hurd.
The Byron sisters also earned first and second place in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle with Elizabeth earning the win in both events.
Kelly Leahey picked up a win in the 200-yard freestlye, while Kim Garcia earned a convincing win in the 1000-yard freestyle. Torey Thelin and Carolyn Bowman finished one and two respectively in the 200-yard butterfly.
Maeve Brennan earned first place points for the women in the one-meter diving event, and Jennifer Rhines took first on the three-meter board.
The men dropped a 166-125 decision, but there were some strong efforts. Matt Northrup won the 50-yard freestyle and also picked up first place finishes in the 200-yard medley relay and 200-yard freestyle relay. Thomas Martz and Robert Swaninger were also part of the relay foursomes.
Andrew Faughnan continued to be the top sprinter, collecting a win in the 100-yard freestyle and anchoring the 200-yard freestyle relay.
