Kiwanuka Named ACC Player of the Week

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Boston College senior defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka earned ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week honors for his efforts against North Carolina State, according to an announcement made by the league office.
In his final home game at Alumni Stadium, Kiwanuka enjoyed a career night. The senior set career-highs in tackles (12), sacks (3.5) and tackles for loss (5.5) as the Eagles defeated the Wolfpack 30-10.
Kiwanuka, a consensus 2005 preseason All-America choice and 2005 ACC Preseason Player of the Year, has been named a semifinalist for the Chuck Bednarik Award, given to the outstanding defensive player in the country. He was also recently named a finalist for the 2005 Ted Hendricks Award, honoring the defensive end of the year.
The Eagles return to action this weekend as they travel to Maryland for their final game of the regular season. Kickoff is slated for noon.
