Women's Golf Places Third at Tribe Intercollegiate

Williamsburg, va. - The women's golf team placed third out of 11 teams at the William and Mary Tribe Intercollegiate. Freshman Emily Cannon placed third overall out of 61 golfers and only one stroke out of first place. The Eagles placed two golfers in the top 20, with Cannon and sophomore Lara Smilnak coming in tied for 11th. The course covered 5,956 yards and was par 72.
Cannon shot an even par of 72 and led the field in birdies with five. Smilnak shot a 76 in the one round event for 11th overall.
Sophomore Katie Napleton and freshman Kathryn Mohr tied for 25th, shooting a 79, respectively.
Courtney Tincher rounded out the top five for the Eagles tying for 39th overall.
Next up for the Eagles is the Rutgers Invitational in Piscataway, N.J. on Friday, Oct. 14, and Saturday, Oct. 15.
