Boston, Mass. - The women's cross country team placed 12th out of 44 teams competing at the New England Championship on Saturday, Oct. 8. Freshman Nichole Lister placed sixth overall, the highest of any freshman in the field. The five kilometer course was run at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass., and fielded 301 runners.
Lister ran the course in 18 minutes, while sophomore Nikki Tufts placed 34th overall with a time of 18:49.
Sophomore Mary Heitkamp placed 56th overall, covering the course in 19:13. Freshman Erika Somogyi crossed the line 100th, clocking in at 19:43.
Senior Cara Valeri and freshman Julia Stone finished 150th and 173rd, respectively.
Next up for the Eagles is the NCAA Pre-Meet on Saturday, Oct. 15, in Terre Haute, Ind.
