Volleyball Falls to Georgia Tech

Atlanta, Ga. - After posting their first conference win in the ACC against Clemson on Friday, the Eagles fell to a dominant Georgia Tech team 3-0, (30-23, 30-16, 30-16). The Eagles fall to 6-10, and 1-6 in the ACC while Georgia Tech improves to 9-6 and 5-1 in the conference.
The Eagles had a hard time getting past the Yellow Jackets at the net as Georgia Tech put up a match-high 14 team blocks and held the Eagles to a .067 hitting percentage as a team.
Junior Morgan Woodcock led the Eagles with nine kills and a .286 hitting percentage. Woodcock also assisted in four blocks on the evening which was another team high.
Junior Dorota Niemczewska was second on the team behind Woodcock in kills putting down eight for the night and adding five digs on the defensive end.
Kristin Kenney led the Eagles defensively for the second night in a row digging 17 balls during the match.
Senior co-captain Verena Rost led the team in assists with 28 and also added five digs and four kills for the Eagle's effort.
The first game was kept close between the two teams until Georgia Tech went on a five-point run to make the score 26-20. Although BC would come close to coming back the Yellow Jackets would not be easily defeated and eventually took the first game 30-23.z
The Yellow Jackets stole game two from the Eagles and never trailed from start to finish and took the second game 30-16.
Game three started off close but after back and forth play for the first few points until Georgia Tech went on a 10-0 run and never looked back taking the game three and the match with a score of 30-16.
The Eagles return to ACC action next Friday, Oct. 14, at home against Duke at 7p.m. in Power Gym.
