Final Results
Milford, Conn. - The women's golf team finished the fall season in style, capturing the inaugural Sacred Heart Invitational on Monday, Oct. 31. Freshman Emily Cannon took first place, her first tournament win of her collegiate career. The Invitational was played over two days at the Great River Golf Club in Milford, Conn.
The par-72 course ran 5,815 yards and fielded 11 teams and 57 golfers. The Eagles battled back from a 15 stroke deficit to capture their first tournament win of the fall season. The Eagles placed four individuals, including two freshman, in the top 10 en route to their win.
Cannon outright claimed first place after firing off a 78 in the second round for a two day total of 159. Sophomore Lara Smilnak was the next BC golfer to complete the course tying for fourth place with Rutger's Ashley Kozlowski. Smilnak shot rounds of 87 and 77 for a total of 164.
Freshman Kathryn Mohr placed tied for eighth overall with a total of 164, while senior Elizabeth Friel finished tied for 10th place with a total of 166. Sophomore Katie Napleton finished tied for 26th shooting a 176 in the two-day event.
Sophomore Courtney Tincher tied for 28th with a total of 177.
The Eagles closed out their fall season with the Sacred Heart Invitational and will tee-off again in the spring.
