Men's Tennis Competes at Dartmouth ITA Regionals

Hanover, N.H. - Three members of the Boston College men's tennis team had success at the Dartmouth ITA Regional Championships in Hanover, N.H.
Soma Kesthely lost his opening match to Harvard's Scott Danenburg, but rallied to win four straight matches in the consolation bracket. The junior took out Alejandro Nery 7-5, 6-2, and followed with a sound defeat of Stony Brook's David Kortem. He then topped St. Bonaventure's Leo Mochazuki and Brown's Chris Lee before falling to Penn State's Mike James.
Freshman Brian Hartness and sophomore Jason Sechrist both played well to make it through the qualifying draw. Hartness defeated Chris Innes from Colgate and Navy's Brandon Carter in two sets to move on. Sechrist also needed only two sets to defeat Alex Svetlakov from St. John's and Jean-Francois Robitille from Stony Brook. Hartness and Sechrist also won their first matches in the main draw.
The freshman and sophomore tandem won a match on the doubles side also, beating Marist's Pedro Genovese and Leo Rodriguez.
