No.1 Sailing Wins Again

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - With an impressive come from behind showing on Sunday, the Boston College co-ed sailing team won its fifth major event of the fall season. Sailed at Brown University, the Eagles captured the Hoyt Trophy by edging No. 7 Yale University by six points. The strong field included 12 of the top 20 nationally ranked co-ed teams.
Adam Roberts, Aly Whitehead and Mike Grosso finished 3rd in the A division while Reed Johnson and Allie Nagle were fourth in the B division. The Eagles fell behind by 20 points at the end of the first day of competition before an impressive effort on Sunday.
Elsewhere this weekend, Boston College finished 3rd at both the Smith Trophy and Oberg Trophy sailed at MIT. The women's sailing team took 11th at the Stu Nelson intersectional at Connecticut College.
Qualifiers for the women's and freshman Atlantic Coast Championships are set for this weekend. The co-ed team has already qualified for the Atlantic Coast Championships by winning the Danmark Trophy earlier this fall.
