
Women's Cross Country Finishes Sixth at Pre-Nationals

Terre Haute, Ind. - The women's cross country team placed sixth out of 34 teams at the 2005 Pre-Nationals on Saturday, Oct. 15. Three-time All-American Maria Cicero placed eighth overall out of a field of 232 runners. Cicero ran the 6,000-meter race in 20 minutes, 40.6 seconds.
Senior Laurel Burdick was the next Eagle runner to complete the course, placing 12th overall with a time of 20:46.3.
The next two finishers for the Eagles were freshman. Mallory Champa and Nichole Lister finished 46th and 71st, respectively. Champa ran the course in 21:33, while Lister clocked in at 21:50.
Senior Kristen Coon placed 86th overall, with a time of 21:58. Junior Jessica Flinn and senior Anne Hessberg rounded out the Eagles seven runners, placing 105th and 127th, respectively.
The Eagles return to action on Saturday, Oct. 23, for the Mayor's Cup at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass.
