Orono, Maine - The men's cross country team placed fourth out of nine teams at the Murray Keatinge Invitational hosted by the University of Maine on Saturday, Oct. 1. Junior co-captain Mark Alizzi was the Eagle's top finisher out of 101 runners, placing 15th overall in 24 minutes, 32.90 seconds.
Sophomore Patrick Mellea came in 20th overall, as he was the second BC runner to cross the line. Mellea ran the 4.96 mile run in 24:40.20.
Freshman Timothy Ritchie finished 28th overall, while senior Drew Wiechnicki was 31st. Junior Stephen Walsh came in 35th overall, while classmate Joseph Lesniak was 38th.
Sophomore Josh Springer came in 43th overall, while newcomer David Emerson was 47th. Freshman Patrick Viklund placed 49th overall.
Freshman James LaGreca and Dan Springer placed 57th and 60th respectively. Rounding out the field for the Eagles were sophomore Jeff Klatsky and Brendan Collins crossing the line in 65th and 69th.
The Eagles run again on Oct. 8 at the New England Championship in Boston, Mass. at Franklin Park.
