Quandt Earns USCHO Defensive Player Of The Week

Minneapolis, Minn. - Alison Quandt was named USCHO/ITECH Defensive Player of the Week in an announcement made by the online publication on Tuesday evening. Quandt stopped 61 of 62 shots in a two game series against Clarkson in Lake Placid, N.Y. over the weekend. This is the first time a BC player has received the honor this season.
On New Year's Day Quandt stopped all 28 shots she faced in a 1-0 win over the Golden Knights. The junior is tied for first in Hockey East with two shutouts in 10 starts this season. On Sunday night she allowed one power-play goal in the 1-1 tie with Clarkson. Quandt stopped 33 shots, including five in the extra frame.
Quandt is the first BC goalie to allow as few as four goals in four consecutive D-1 games. She has had two shutouts in the past four games.
Quandt posts a goals against average of 2.87 and a save percentage of .886 on the season.
This is the second honor Quandt has received this week. On Monday she was recognized by Hockey East as Player of the Week.
BC (5-11-1) will travel to Durham, N.H. to face New Hampshire on Saturday, January 8 at 2 p.m.
