Wakefield, Mass. - Alison Quandt was named Hockey East Player of the Week for her combined 61 save performance in a two game series with Clarkson this past weekend. Lee-J Mirasolo also earned ITECH Rookie of the Week honors in the announcement made by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Quandt was unstoppable in both games against the Golden Knights. On Saturday night in front of a crowd of 1,257 the junior recorded her second shutout of the season with 28 saves to give the Eagles their fifth win of the year. The following night Quandt was equally as impressive. She allowed one power-play goal in the 1-1 tie with Clarkson and stopped 33 shots, including five in the extra frame.
Mirasolo scored her first career goal, which proved to be the game-winner on Saturday. This is the fifth time a BC rookie has received the accolade this season. Colleen Harris, Deborah Spillane, and Sarah Feldman have also been recognized by the conference.
BC (5-11-1) will resume play in Hockey East on Saturday, January 8 when it travels to Durham, N.H. to play New Hampshire at 2 p.m.
