CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Cori Van Dusen will join the Boston College softball staff as an assistant coach, according to an announcement made by Boston College head softball coach Jen Finley. Van Dusen replaces Stephanie Fleischaker, who was part of BC's coaching staff for five years.
"We are excited to have Cori join our staff here at Boston College," says Finley. "Her experience in the BIG EAST will help not only our pitchers, but our whole team. We look forward to the excitement and enthusiasm she will bring to the table."
Van Dusen is a newcomer to the coaching ranks, having graduated from fellow BIG EAST school Providence College. She was a four-year pitcher for the Friars, earning All-BIG EAST honors. In her four-year career, she led the team with the lowest ERA each season and set a school record for most strikeouts in a single season.
Van Dusen has spent numerous years working several softball camps throughout the area and country. She has been a part of the camp coaching staffs at five different camps in the last three summers. She also has spent time giving private pitching lessons.
A native of Riverside, California, Van Dusen earned a bachelor of arts degree in sociology from Providence this past May.
