The Hockey East Preseason Coaches Poll was released this morning and Boston College was chosen to win the league. This season marks the fifth time in the last seven years that the league coaches have selected BC as the preseason favorite.
BC has won the Hockey East regular-season title in three of the past four years in which it was selected first in the preseason poll. The Eagles also won the league's regular-season crown in 2002-03, a year in which they were predicted to finish third.
BC received five of nine first-place votes from the Hockey East coaches. The Eagles were the unanimous pick to win the conference last season.
Maine took three first-place votes in the poll, while Boston University received one first-place vote.
