Women's XC Opened Season at Wildcat Invitational

The Boston College Women's Cross Country team finished sixth overall at the 2004 Wildcat Invitational this weekend in Durham, New Hampshire. This was the first race of the 2004 season for BC.
The overall winner of the invitational was the University of New Hampshire. The Wildcats notched only 55 points, finishing 29 points below the second place finisher Binghamton University.
The 5k race saw the Eagles tally 141 points overall with a total time of 1:36:16.92. The individual average time for the race was 19:15.39.
Freshman Lynn Kubeja ran the best race for the Eagles in her first collegiate race. The Mendon, NY. native ran a 18:47.02 which took 15th place overall.
Another standout was junior Anne Hessberg who ran a 19:08.10. This time landed her 22nd overall. A bit further down the list, senior Katherine Bennett finished 28th and senior Megan Ruane finished 37th. The duo ran a 19:20.10 and a 19:29.58, respectively.
The next meet for the women's squad is Saturday, September 25 at the Iona College Meet of Champions in New York, NY.
