Senior co-captain Pat Haggerty (Lawrenceville, N.J.) and sophomore goalkeeper Issey Maholo (Tokyo, Japan) received individual accolades for the second time in as many weeks when they were honored by the BIG EAST on Monday.
Maholo received BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week honors for the second time this season after registering a 1-0 shutout victory on the road over BIG EAST rival Syracuse on Saturday afternoon. The shutout was Maholo's second in as many games, and third of his career.
Haggerty received BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week honors for his strong performance against Syracuse, anchoring a defense that allowed just one shot on goal. The senior co-captain was named to last week's College Soccer News team of the week for his play in BC's first two victories. Haggerty also led the Eagles with two shots.
The Eagles, currently ranked eighth in the nation, will host crosstown rival Boston University on Wednesday, September 15, at 7 p.m. at the Newton Campus Soccer Field.
