The Boston College Volleyball team opens its season Wednesday, September 1 against the University of Rhode Island at 6 p.m. The Eagles will travel to Kingston, R.I. to face the Rams, who finished last season with a 12-18 record. The Eagles are coming off a successful 2003 campaign in which they posted a 17-12 record. With only four upperclassmen on this year's team, the young Eagles will be led by junior co-captains Verena Rost and Allison Anderson. Last season Rost finished second in the BIG EAST with 45 service aces and Anderson led the team with 348 kills. "Going into this first match my approach is a lot different this year. I am really anxious to see where the team and program are. Rhode Island is in the Atlantic 10 so it gives us a chance to see where we match up against teams in another conference," said head coach Andrea Leonard.
