Kiwanuka Named To Athlon Preseason All-America First Team

Boston College junior defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka has been named to the Athlon Sports Preseason All-America First Team, the company announced Friday.
Kiwanuka, a 6-8, 249-pound junior from Indianapolis, led the Big East in sacks last season with 11.5 and was named to the All-Big East First Team, the first BC sophomore to receive that honor since William Green in 2000.

Junior Nathanael Hasselbeck has decided to transfer and pursue opportunities at another school, according to BC head football coach Tom O'Brien.
Hasselbeck, a 5-11, 196-pound safety from Norfolk, MA, returned 14 punts for 155 yards last season for the Eagles and also registered 11 tackles.
