Men's Tennis Falls To Rutgers, 4-3

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Senior Justin Slattery (Hampton, N.H.) and freshman Soma Kesthely (Budapest, Hungary) each won singles and doubles matches to lead Boston College in a 4-3 BIG EAST loss to Rutgers, Saturday, at the Flynn Recreation Complex.
Despite dropping the opening set 6-0, Slattery won the next two, 6-3, 6-1 to earn the three-set victory over Tyler Deming at No.1 singles. At the No.5 spot, Kesthely defeated Harry Cicma in straight sets, 7-5, 6-2.
Boston College (5-13, 1-2) captured the doubles point with wins from Slattery and Ross Pytko (Oxford, Mass.) at the No.1 spot, and Derrick Chou (Great Neck, N.Y.) and Kesthely at No.2.
Rutgers improves to 3-8 overall and 3-1 in BIG EAST play.
The Eagles host Boston University on Wednesday, April 21 at 2:00 p.m. BC returns to conference action when they travel to Villanova, Saturday, at noon.
