CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Chris McCoy (Pittsburgh, Pa.) prevailed in a tiebreaker at No.2 singles while Justin Slattery (Hampton, N.H.) won his seventh straight singles match and Soma Kesthely (Budapest, Hungary) won his fifth straight to lead Boston College in a 7-0 win over BIG EAST opponent Connecticut, Tuesday, at the Flynn Recreation Complex.
With the win, the Eagles improve to 6-13 overall and 2-2 in BIG EAST play. UConn falls to 4-9 overall and 0-5 in conference play.
The Eagles took two-of-three doubles matches before sweeping all six singles tilts. Five-of-six singles matches were won in straight sets. McCoy was taken to three sets by Andy Sweatt before prevailing in the tiebreaker.
BC returns to action Tuesday, April 21, when it hosts local rival Boston University. The match begins at 2:00 p.m.
