The Boston College women's volleyball team sent a care package to the U.S. troops in Iraq. The package consisted of various effects such as toiletries, candy, sunscreen, and other small items that are readily available in the United States but not as easy to come by in Iraq. In addition, the volleyball squad included baby wipes and eye drops that are essential to the servicemen who combat the dry and dusty climate.
"We felt that it was important to give something back to the troops who have given so much to us," players Morgan Woodcock and Allison Anderson said on behalf of the team.
"It was a fulfilling experience for all of us, and we learned a lot about the kinds of things we take for granted that servicemen and women must give up in order to protect our country's liberty. We as a team are proud to support the soldiers abroad and only hope that we can do more to help in the future."
