Smith, Dudley Earn BIG EAST Honors

Boston College sophomore Craig Smith earned All-BIG EAST first-team honors and freshman Jared Dudley captured BIG EAST All-Rookie Team honors, according to an announcement made by the league office.
Smith averaged 17.4 points and 7.4 rebounds per game in 16 conference contests this season. He ranked among league leaders in four categories: field-goal percentage (second), scoring (eighth), rebounding (eighth) and blocked shots (tied-14th).
Smith earned All-Conference second-team honors and All-Rookie accolades last winter.
Dudley averaged 12.6 points and 6.4 rebounds per game in league action. He led the team in minutes played, averaging 33.5 minutes per game. The San Diego, Calif., resident led all BIG EAST freshmen in scoring in conference contests. He also ranked second among freshmen in rebounding and third (tied) in steals.
Boston College returns to action on Wednesday, March 10 against Georgetown in the BIG EAST Championship's first round. Game time is 2 p.m. in Madison Square Garden.
