LINCOLN, Neb. - - The Boston College baseball team (3-11-0) dropped a 10-1 decision to the nation's 21st ranked squad in Nebraska (11-4), Friday, March 19 in Lincoln.
The Huskers plated the game's first 10 runs before Garrett Greer (Peabody, Mass.) drove in the Eagle lone tally in the top of the eighth. BC was outhit 11-4 and committed three errors. Mike Flynn (Trumbull, Conn.), Josh DiScipio (Schenectady, N.Y.), Jared McGuire (Harwich, Mass.) and Greer each had a hit for the Eagles.
Nebraska's no. one, two, three and nine batters each collected a pair of hits, and Daniel Bruce drove in three runs.
Sophomore Zach Kroenke earned the victory for Nebraska to improve to 3-0. He allowed one run on three hits through 7.1 innings of work with eight strikeouts and three walks. Junior Kevin Shepard, BC's starting left-hander, gave up five earned runs - seven total - in 4.0 innings.
The two teams meet Saturday, March 20. Game time is 2:05 central time
