CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College swept all six matches played and defeated the University of San Francisco in its first of three home games this week, Thursday, at the Flynn Recreation Complex.
The Eagles won five of six singles matches in straight sets. Junior Emily Yeomans (Lafayette, Calif.) captured the win playing at the no.6 spot. She defeated USF's Courtney Chung, 6-4, 6-0.
Playing in her first match at the no.1 spot this season, senior Allison Ashley (Chestnut Hill, Mass.) beat Camilly Pamart, 6-1, 6-1. Nida Waseem (Karachi, Pakistan), Morgan Landes (Huron, Ohio) and Lindsey Nash (Temecula, Calif.) all picked up wins with relative ease at the nos.2, 3 and 4 positions, respectively.
Amy Molden (El Cajon, Calif.) won her fifth consecutive match, beating Anna Skogerboe in three sets, 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (8).
Boston College is back in action Saturday, March 20, when it hosts Harvard at 4:00 p.m. The Eagles play their second Ivy League opponent in as many days, Sunday, when they welcome Brown University to the Flynn Recreation Complex. That match gets underway at 2:30 p.m.
