Boston College is tied for 25th in the latest Associated Press national men's basketball poll. The ranking is the Eagles' first in the AP poll since being ranked 22nd on Jan. 14, 2002.
The Eagles, which yesterday earned the sixth seed in the NCAA Tournament's St. Louis Regional, enter the tournament with a 23-9 record. BC finished with a 10-6 BIG EAST record, tying for fifth in the league standings.
Boston College advanced to the semifinal round of the conference tournament last week. The Eagles defeated Georgetown and Syracuse, before losing to Pittsburgh in the semifinal round.
The Eagles will return to action on Friday, March 19 against Utah in the NCAA Tournament's first round. Game time is 11:30 a.m. (CST) in Milwaukee's Bradley Center.
