CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College men's tennis team avenged a 6-1 loss suffered against St. Bonaventure this fall by taking 3-of-6 six singles matches and 2-of-3 doubles contests to earn a 4-3 victory Saturday afternoon at the Flynn Recreation Complex.
Junior Chris McCoy (Pittsburgh, Pa.), who had fallen to Nikhil Murali this fall, retaliated with a straight-set victory, 6-4, 6-4, at the No.2 singles spot. Classmate Derrick Chou (Great Neck, N.Y.) and senior Ross Pytko (Oxford, Mass.) also advanced in straight sets at the No's. 5 and 6 singles positions.
In doubles action, the tandem of Justin Slattery (Hampton, N.H.) and McCoy improved to 3-0 on the season, defeating Murali and Alejandro Nery, 8-3. Earning the other doubles victory for Boston College was the senior team of Paul Colahan (Beverly, Mass.) and Pytko, who defeated Andrew Hart and Sajeel Quereshi, 9-7.
The Eagles host George Washington on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 10:00 a.m.
